Community Dinner Update

Many of Jesus’ memorable interactions with his beloved people occurred over a meal. SCCC will be welcoming our Cedarbrae neighbours on May 11th for our first Community Dinner in the Fellowship Hall. The Missions team are excited to partner with Ingrid and Randy Dahlman, who held a successful training event on Sunday and provided a wonderful lunch for our table hosts. I would like to thank all our volunteers who have committed to this exciting event. We have 14 table hosts who will eat and engage with our guests and five volunteers for preparing the meal. Earl and our youth group will set up the tables the night before and a few of us will decorate with tablecloths and flower arrangements. God has blessed this event, immensely by placing our dinner invite boldly on the back page of “my Cedarbrae“ magazine that was distributed to 2,635 households! A “bold sign” will be placed on Oakfield Drive to notify the community, as well as a Facebook post on the Cedarbrae Community Association page. Please pray that our advertisements will speak to the hearts of Cedarbrae residents to consider attending, and that Holy Spirit will lead them through our doors. Please also pray for our Pastors and front line volunteers to have the words and opportunity to share about Jesus. Also, that there will be enough food for everyone as there isn’t a registration process in place. This is a faith journey, and probably reminds you of the miracle of the five loaves and two fish!( Matt 14:17-19) It is important for our regular SCCC congregation to know that this dinner is ONLY for our Cedarbrae community guests and for volunteers who are serving on the night. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality” Roman’s 12:13 Sarah Blackmore Missions Team lead
