It’s official! Meet our newest Elder, Mike Behrend.
The Elders are pleased to announce that, last week, SCCC members strongly voted in favour of affirming Mike Behrend as an Elder at SCCC. Please read the details of the vote below.
SCCC members voted on affirming Mike Behrend as an Elder
From June 24 to the 30th, 2024, each SCCC member could vote conveniently and securely through an electronic voting system if they provided the church office with a valid email address in advance. For those who preferred traditional methods, paper ballots were available at the church office on Sundays, June 23rd and 30th. If elected, Mike’s initial term would start on July 1, 2024, and end on June 30, 2027. After that time, Mike could then stand for election to a second three-year term.
Details and outcome of the vote
SCCC’s membership count during the voting period was 77 voting members, for which SCCC had 75 valid email addresses on record.
We needed at least 20 members voting to have a voting quorum (25% of 77 = 20 (rounded up)) as per SCCC’s Bylaws. At the end of the voting period, we were pleased to see that 59 members had voted, either electronically or using paper ballots. Your active participation is greatly appreciated and has made this process a success.
The number of “YES” votes cast to support the motion to affirm Mike was well in excess of the 75% required in our Bylaws. Accordingly, the Elders are pleased to present Mike Behrend as our latest SCCC Elder.
