Overview of SCCC Volunteer Ministry at Mustard Seed
The Mustard Seed Volunteer Ministry has been a foundation of SCCC mission, dedicated to prepping and serving at the SEED. This year, our team of passionate volunteers has reduced significantly, due to some member relocation and illness/old age though 2 people also joined. Irrespective of this, members continue to actively serve at SEED every first Wednesday of each month.
Impact of our Volunteer Ministry
The efforts of our volunteers have been instrumental in achieving the church's goals. Some of the measurable impacts include.
Increase in the number of guests served from about 150 to 250 people.
Monthly contribution of $500 to support meals served.
Prepping and serving meals every first Wednesday of each month
Volunteer Recognition
I am incredibly grateful for the hard work and dedication of our volunteers. Special recognition to:
Earl Slobodian, who is always present every month on the serving team.
Jim Prichard, who recently stepped down from the team has always ensured to fill the space for anyone who will be absent on the scheduled day.
Challenges and Areas for Growth
While we have seen immense success, there are areas for improvement:
Increasing volunteer recruitment to meet the growing demand for both prep and serving team
Expanding outreach to Mustard Seed Foothills shelter (prep and clean)
Looking Ahead
In the coming year, we aim to build on this momentum by:
Getting more volunteers from our Russian church
Conclusion
The Volunteer Ministry has made a significant impact this year, thanks to the dedication of our volunteers. I urge the church to continue to pray for this ministry and invite more people like youths to join the team. lastly, I look forward to the continued growth of this ministry and the positive change we can create together.
