South Calgary’s part in receiving 2023 Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes is done. We crossed the finish line because of your generosity, prayers, and faith in the power of God’s love expressed in a shoebox through Operation Christmas Child.
Last Monday morning (Nov 20), South Calgary loaded a total of 1004 shoeboxes packed into 50 shipping cartons onto a truck headed to the warehouse in NE Calgary. Your ‘stuff a box’ items filled 26 shoeboxes. And all extra items were sent to the warehouse to fill more shoeboxes.
A big, BIG thank you to everyone — whether you built a box or brought items to ‘stuff a box’ or volunteered as a greeter during collection week or lifted the cartons into the transport truck … your contributions will make a big impact in the lives of so many children and families. Keep praying for the child who will receive your gifts.
Everything is now in the hands of the staff and volunteers at the Samaritans Purse national warehouse (Calgary) where boxes are arriving from across Canada to be checked and sent off overseas. The next 3-week window is a crucial time at the warehouse. Please lift everyone up in prayer as they coordinate a massive, logistical undertaking worldwide.
